Laguna Chaxa and Quebrada de Jerez

Tour Start : Alternative at 9 am or 2 pm

Starting the tour we will head to discover the core of the second largest salt flat in the world, the Salar de Atacama, a place where the highest concentrations of salt are found and where there are a series of bodies of water that are habitat for different species.

Stops

Laguna Chaxas: Our first stop will be Laguna Chaxas, where we will take a peaceful walk in the area inhabited by flamingos and other species, with a wonderful panoramic view from the center of the Atacama salt flat, surrounded by the basin of the same name and a series of volcanic ranges and the majestic Andes mountain range.

We will be able to see our flamingos very close up, feeding and also flying from time to time.

Jeré Ravine : The Jeré ravine is a true natural sanctuary, possessing a microclimate suitable for agriculture, particularly fruit trees. A river runs through it, and it is also an archaeological site, which belonged to the Atacameño ancestors who lived in the area for millennia, taking advantage of its resources.

Toconao Village : In the pre-Hispanic village of "Toconao", we will visit its plaza, the church of San Lucas and the museum shop of Mrs. Luisa, where we can meet her llamas, learn about typical products of the area, her quality handicrafts and enjoy some of her artisanal ice creams if you wish.
