Cejar Lagoon Tour

Laguna Cejar is located southwest of San Pedro, in what is known as the heart of the Atacama Salt Flat, where the highest concentrations of salt are found. The salt-saturated waters of this lagoon allow visitors to float effortlessly, as if weightless. This, combined with the beauty of the location and the views of the Andes Mountains and their volcanoes, makes the experience truly unique.
Stops
Laguna Cejar: The visit begins with a short tour of about 20 minutes through the 4 lagoons in the nature reserve, with a 600m walk along a path surrounded by an exceptional, extremophile ecosystem, capable of developing in an environment saturated with different salts.
Once at the lagoon, you can take a 20-minute swim, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. Afterward, you can use the facilities, which include changing rooms and showers, to rinse off the salt and prepare for the next part of the tour.
Eyes of the Salt Flat : Always traveling through the core area of the Atacama Salt Flat, we will head south to "Los Ojos del Salar" (The Eyes of the Salt Flat), so named because they are two circular water outcrops that, from above, resemble two eyes. In the area, the natives call them "eyes of the desert"; they are striking formations that reveal part of the miracle and cycle of water, which is linked to the Andes Mountains.
Laguna Tebenquiche : Continuing our journey, a little beyond the "eyes of the salt flats," we will arrive at Laguna Tebenquiche, where we will take a walk of about a kilometer along the shore, enjoying a stunning and breathtaking view of the lagoon with the Andes Mountains in the background. This lagoon has the unique characteristic that when it is full of water and there is no wind, it transforms into a large mirror, and when it dries up, its surface turns completely white due to the salt, making it equally beautiful.
Finally, we will leave the heart of the salt flat and head towards a spot on the road to San Pedro de Atacama to enjoy a snack with local products and a delicious artisanal pisco sour before returning to San Pedro de Atacama and your accommodation.
