Rainbow Valley : Located in the Domeyko mountain range, at 3,000 meters above sea level and an hour from San Pedro de Atacama, next to the Salado River canyon, the rainbow valley is a place of unique geological formations that are the result of eruptive and erosive processes that took place during the last 145-65 million years where it is possible, like an X-ray, to see a rainbow of colors that was generated due to the different minerals found inside said mountain range.

Yerbas Buenas Petroglyphs : Next, we'll travel a few kilometers from the Rainbow Valley to the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs, one of the most important rock art sites in northern Chile. Here, you'll find hundreds of Atacameño engravings on volcanic rocks, featuring various Andean motifs such as llamas and flamingos, as well as the incredible shamans—wise men and healers who, like those found in other indigenous cultures around the world, also played a significant role in the San Pedro or Lickanantay culture. This is a place where you'll not only have the opportunity to see one of humanity's oldest art forms, and Atacameño in particular, but also to learn more about the Atacameño or Lickanantay culture, its main rituals, lifestyle, and Andean worldview of the last 5,000 years.

After enjoying the petroglyphs and their history, we will begin the return to San Pedro de Atacama to arrive at a good time, so that you can enjoy a good and restorative lunch.
